1. History
To prepare well for the task of training international students, along with preparing the program, contents, training plan and managing trainees on a daily basis. January 1, 1985 The President of the Academy made a decision to establish a framework for training and fostering international cadres. In response to the requirements of the training mission the Academy which has been costantly growing and expanding, on August 27, 1990, the President of the Academy signed the decision No. 618/QD-HV stipulating the organization of the framework of student management wings, including 4 wings, including the International Co-operation Wing; the International Co-operation Wing is a grassroots party organization under the direct leadership of the Academy's Party Committee. On that basis, January 1 every year is the traditional day of the International System.
2. Functions and tasks.
From the very beginning of its establishment, the Academy has determined that the functions and tasks of the International Co-operation Wing are: commanding and managing international students, including the operational-strategic advanced training courses, Lecturers, Postgraduate students. and classes of international officials - Multinational defense.

4. Achievements.
Over the past 40 years of construction and development, the International Co-operation Wing has always received and successfully completed all tasks assigned, managing and handing over the Command and Staff classes at the operation and strategic levels; Teaching staff; Master and PhD students in military arts and sciences for the Lao People's Army and the Royal Cambodian Army (managed 85 courses with nearly 1000 students, of which 90 Master students, 35 PhD students); 05 classes of defense officials from 25 countries participated, highly appreciated by the Academy, the Ministry of National Defense and the militaries of other countries. Friend. Contributing to building and enhancing solidarity, friendship and cooperation with the militaries of countries in the region and the world, especially with the Lao People's Army and the Royal Cambodian Army. The International Co-operation Wing has been awarded many noble awards from the Ministry of National Defense, National Academy of Defense and the State of Laos, Cambodia.
